Bronte opening night in 2 days

This modern production explores the Brontes’ childhood and Charlotte, Emily and Anne’s struggle to publish their writings as their brother, Branwell, descends into alcoholism and paranoia.

Weaved throughout are the intense emotional manifestations of their literary characters, Catherine Earnshaw and Bertha Mason, making this much more than a Victorian parlour melodrama.

In this bicentenary of Branwell Bronte’s birth, the director and cast have immersed themselves in the Bronte’s world, their writing, their fears and their loves. They have drawn on all these influences to create the Bronte story, but it is still only a taste of the Brontes’ work.
