AUDITION NOTICE – Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott
I am directing the Settlement Players June production, Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, this year. The performance dates are Thursday 15th, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th June 2023.
This play is a very tense thriller about a blind lady being terrorised in her flat by a gang of ruthless criminals who are trying to recover a doll containing a package of heroin which has been brought, unknowingly, from Amsterdam by her photographer husband.
Written by Frederick Knott, who also wrote Dial M for Murder, the play was turned into a movie starring Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin in 1967.
This brilliant script offers huge challenges and will stretch your acting abilities to levels that you didn’t know that you were capable of.
The parts in order of appearance are.
Mike – A conman recently released from prison
Croker – A second conman also recently released from prison
Roat – A sinister killer
Susy Henderson – A blind lady
Sam Henderson – Her photographer husband
Gloria – A young girl who lives upstairs
First Police Officer
Second Police Officer
The auditions will be held in the main hall at the Settlement at 8pm on Wednesday 15th March and at 6pm on Sunday 19th March. I very much hope to see you at one of these auditions.
If you can’t make one of these dates but want to be considered, or you want more information ahead of time, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch with me at jim.anderson@sky.com or on 07963 467 398.
